Dear Imagine Weston Friends, Families and Staff:
This is the time of the year when we reflect on what we are truly grateful for as we join our families and friends at the holiday table to break bread (and later watch or play football/futbol) and celebrate the quintessential American holiday of Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday of the year since it brings all races, nationalities, creeds, ethnic groups and families together in peace, happiness and harmony.
In addition to the staff are the students that have enrolled, thrived, laughed and are thoroughly engaged and involved at Imagine Weston along with their loving, concerned and attentive parents who chose to send and entrust their precious offspring to us. We appreciate that trust and confidence. The parent volunteers of the PTP and the parents who compose our strong Governing Board are also truly appreciated for all the selfless hours and work they put in to make Imagine Weston so special. And, of course, how much support and guidance I have received from Imagine Schools. We couldn’t be the award-winning, nationally accredited school we are without all these forces working together.
It is with a heavy heart that I formally announce my retirement as the principal of this incredible school, effective at the end of December. I will have so many indelible memories to look back on, friendships and bonds that have been made and warmth in my heart remembering the hugs, embraces and kindnesses from parents, students and staff. There is much going on in my personal life and it is time to step down. It is not good-bye. I hope to stay in touch and keep up with the successes and achievements of our amazing staff, students and their families.
Interviews for my replacement are being held this week. We hope to introduce the new principal soon. I will work with him/her to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.
Please join me on Sunday, December 9th at 9 AM, at Cypress Bay High School for the Mayor’s Challenge. It would be a great farewell for me to know that we have, once again, won the silver cup and the prize money for the 8th year in a row! Registration for this annual event will be sent home this week.
A warm wish for all your holidays this season to be merry, bright and full of good cheer and great health.
Happy Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and an amazing 2019 New Year.
Love, hugs & kisses,
Nadine Laham, Principal
