Arrival & Dismissal
Car Riders: Students are to be dropped off via the car pool lane between 7:15 A.M. and 7:50 A.M. School personnel will be available to ensure the safety of the students. Additionally, the City of Weston has approved the west side of Royal Palm Blvd. for vehicle parking, which may also include student drop off and pick up. Children should not be dropped off on Glades Circle or in the middle of Glades Parkway. Middle school students are expected to be in their seats and ready to work by 7:45 A.M. (Elementary students must be in their seats no later than 8:00 A.M.)
Bus Riders: Bus riders will be dropped off at the bus loop in the front of the school. If a bus is late the student will not be marked tardy.
Bicycle Riders: By law bicycle riders MUST wear helmets. All bicycle riders are to enter the campus using the main entrance at the front of the school, walk their bicycles to the bicycle rack, and lock them each day.
Instruction in the classroom begins at 8:00 A.M.
The academic day concludes at 2:30 P.M. for all students.
Car Riders: All car riders are to be picked up in the car pool lane. School personnel will be available to assist with pick-up until the last car is through the lane at approximately 3:00 P.M. The Carpool hang tag must be on display in the car window with the student(s)’ name(s) on it. Lost or damaged tags can be purchased from the front office for a $5.00 replacement fee. Students will not be released to any vehicle without the proper identification. ALL persons designated to pick up your child(ren) either by car or as a Publix walker should have their name on the student emergency card. We will not release a student to any person without the proper permissions and identification.
Bus Riders and Activity Bus Students: All bus students and activity bus students are to report to the front of the school at their designated time.
Publix Walkers: Parents picking up students at dismissal time are requested to remain in the appropriate waiting area at the side of the school and MUST have a Publix walkers sign. ALL persons designated to pick up your child(ren) either by car or as a Publix walker should have their name on the student emergency card. We will not release a student to any person without the proper permissions and identification.
Inclement Weather Dismissal: Car Riders will follow the same procedures as listed above unless otherwise notified. Students will be permitted to use the school phone as necessary to contact parents. Parents will be permitted to enter campus and pick up their child in the breezeways provided that they have a “Publix Walker” sign or Car Pool Permit.
Rainy Day Dismissal Procedures: 10 minutes before the end of the day (this will be announced)
In the event of a thunderstorm or lightning storm at dismissal, students will be held in their classrooms by their teachers and dismissal will be done through an orderly process. We will wait until the lightning is away from the area before we release anyone. The order of dismissal during a storm follows. Teachers will hold all students until called as detailed below Please be patient with the process since it takes quite a while to dismiss the entire school. A text message via Remind.com will be sent by the principal informing parents of a delayed dismissal.
- All first-run bus riders will be dismissed and loaded onto their respective bus. The rest of the students will be held in their classrooms until announcement is made for release.
- Activity bus students are dismissed to the front
- Publix walkers are released to their parents
- Carpool is dismissed to the front
- Second-run bus students and after-care students are directed to their respective locations.

Parents are not permitted to walk into a teacher’s class at dismissal time to informally conference with the teacher. Many important closing procedures are being conducted at that time. Should apparent have an emergency that prevent them from picking up a child on time, the parent or appropriate designee must notify the school prior to 12:00 p.m. In the event a student is habitually picked up late and at the discretion of school administration, that student will be enrolled in the After School Care program at the standard cost to parent/guardian. Parent will be notified in writing as necessary. Inclement Weather Dismissal: Bus and Car Riders will follow the same procedures a listed above unless otherwise notified.
